David Janke has been working on Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) initiatives frankly before the acronym was adopted widely. Right out of graduate school, one of his early Salesforce development projects was to build a custom Pricing tool in the early days of Salesforce Classic for a healthcare consulting firm in Brentwood, Tennessee around 2009, where he served as Pricing & Business Intelligence Manager and later Senior Manager, Financial Analytics.
After a 6-year stint as a Salesforce Product Owner on the client side, David made the pivot to the consulting side where he held a number of increasingly responsible roles implementing SteelBrick — renamed to Salesforce CPQ when it was acquired in 2015 for $360 million. David has been a critical component and leader across dozens of CPQ implementations spanning a wide variety of industries, client sizes, and geographies, traveling the world implementing, selling, and training consultants on Salesforce CPQ.
More recently, Salesforce CPQ has been labelled "End of Sale" by Salesforce and a new modern tool has taken its place: Salesforce Agentforce Revenue Management (ARM), where David has focused his consulting initiatives over the past 12 months.
Through all of these years and all of these projects, David often thought — there has to be a better way. A cheaper way. A CPQ for 'the rest of us' — not just for enterprise clients that can invest a year and hundreds of thousands of dollars on huge, expensive, robust enterprise CPQ tools.
And after years of planning, designing, building, and testing — Billable CPQ was born. We hope you love using Billable CPQ as much as we have loved building it.
